Both our physical broadcasting transmitter and our online stream are down for now; we do not know when they will be restored. We will give another update as soon as we have more information. This of course means that the Throne Heap showcase scheduled for tonight at 10pm is cancelled. I am working working to reschedule it now.

Hi everyone,

we’ve had some trouble with our URL stream of Democracy now this past week. It has been unreliable. It worked 3 or 5 weekdays, and cut out after 15 mins on friday. I’m in contact with the providers trying to figure out the status of the bug. Sorry for any inconvenience. I’m not sure how it will work this week but we’re hoping that it will be fine. If you have  any questions please feel free to email techdirector [at] wvkr [dot] org.

Hi everyone,

Alex here again. I’ve got some exciting news: this coming tuesday at 10pm (’til 11) my show will be dedicated to one of the most exciting noise labels going today: Throne Heap. I’ll be playing a selection of releases old, recent, and forthcoming. The label has an incredibly solid discography, with releases from Aaron Dilloway (Hanson records owner/former Wolf Eyes member,) Emaciator, Hive Mind (gracious proprietor of LA’s Vacation Vinyl,) subculture god Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth,) and more.
