A Taste of Russian Rock on WVKR

Last night, Professor Nikolai Firtich from Vassar’s Russian Studies Department, did an hour-long show on Russian and Soviet rock music, starting with groups from the 1970s and coming all the way up to the present.  Playing records and CDs from his own collection to narrate this musical journey, Nikolai presented great insight on a music and culture that to most audiences are totally foreign.  Check out some highlights, accompanied by Nikolai’s commentary, below.
